Lexi Pryor, Founder of On Track College Consulting
I have been working in the college counseling field since 2008. I began as a College Counselor with College Access Now, a non-profit working with first generation, low income students in the Seattle Public School District, and later worked as an Academic Advisor and College Counselor in Mount Vernon High School located in Western Washington State. I have my certificate in Independent Educational Consulting from University of California - Irvine, a BA in English from Azusa Pacific University, as well as a TESOL Certificate which I used to teach English to non-native speakers in the Los Angeles area. I founded On Track College Consulting in 2013 to pursue my passion of counseling students full time. I recently moved to Walla Walla, a small town in Eastern Washington, and am thrilled to get to know a new community and students.
Combining expertise and experience from previous work in high school counseling, I am able to quickly build genuine rapport with students while also providing a deep understanding of college admissions and financial aid. My goal is to see each student attend a college where they will not only succeed, but thrive. I can help by providing them with resources, valuable information, and an individualized plan to keep them on track in an otherwise chaotic process. Instead of creating a college list for you, I will assist students and families to take ownership of choosing a college that is a "right fit" for them by evaluating their own strengths and educational goals. Beyond a college being the “right fit” academically and socially, I know that families tend to worry about a financial fit as well. With my proficiency in financial aid applications, scholarships, and award letters, I will guide families through this often confusing and difficult aspect of the final college decision.
As a result of my previous non-profit work, my passion is working with first generation college students. I am experienced in breaking down this complicated process into achievable steps, giving as much detailed assistance as is necessary for each individual student. My goal is to provide information and understanding to each student and family, in order that they can continue to knowledgeably advocate for themselves after they have enrolled in college.
I am able to provide college counseling both in face to face meetings and long distance via Skype, telephone, and email. I am a member of NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counselors) and continue my professional development by attending conferences and college visits in order to bring you the most up to date information available. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to meeting you!
